The
IIT council headed by Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar has taken the
decision to increase student admission into the IITs by nearly 40%. This leads
to the nation's elite engineering institutes increasing their intake to 100000
within the next 3 years. A monthly fellowship of Rs 60000 will be provided to
graduating B.Tech students of IITs who are meritorious.
