German scientists have discovered a new type of eye movement
synchronised with blinking. The movement helps reset the eye after it twists
while viewing a rotating object, in order to avoid moving beyond the mechanical
limits of eye muscles. The movement, which also creates an interruption in the
visual perception, remains unnoticed as it happens automatically while blinking.
