RBI has admitted to a 'printing defect' in the newly
introduced Rs 500 note. Three different versions of the note were found: One
had visible shadows of every object. Another note had its printing go out of
the border. In another case, a Mumbai resident had 2 Rs 500 notes - one
lighter, one heavier in color. However, RBI says people can accept such notes
and can exchange at local RBI centres.
