To meet future demands, ISRO plans to involve private sector & Indian industries in the manufacture of satellites and launch vehicles. Currently, the space agency operates 39 satellites, of which 17 are for Earth observation & communication, 7 for navigation & 2 for space science. This excludes 6 satellites made by students. Currently, ISRO is in the process of developing and semicryogenic engine.
