Beijing has issued a red alert for 3 days in the
wake of severely high levels of air pollution in the Chinese capital. The red
alert from December 17 to 21 will see schools closing down and construction
halts. China had introduced colour-graded warning system to tackle
environmental emergency in the country. The first ever red alert was issued in
Dec 2015.
